Blogging Break

Reader friends, I have some terrible awful no good very bad news: I have to take a break from blogging.WE tv GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Ah, this is killing me. I feel like I’m cutting off my right arm! Which wouldn’t ACTUALLY kill me, but it would hurt a lot. Just like writing this post!

Wait what why!?

The thing is, I have spondyloarthritis + complications, and my latest flare up has lasted since February. I’ve actually been unable to work at my beloved library job since the beginning of the year. We had to postpone a vacation (and eat some of the costs), which was a really stressful decision.

In fact, we had no choice to follow suit with several BIG LIFE PLANS. FOR AN OBVIOUSLY DISTRESSING EXAMPLE!!!!: I had to stop eating sugar and eat veggies instead, guys. That was like…cutting off my left arm. I’m armless!!!

Er, anyway! Everything is kind of hanging in limbo until I recover, and unfortunately right now deadlines are my #1 stress-enemy. Rehabbing and doctor visits mean less blogging time and I seem to keep ending up in a packed, stressful schedule. Staring at screens also gives me migraines, if I’m stressed out, so that has been a problem lately.Β And all of this contributes to insomnia. Do I sound like a hypochondriac to you because I’m starting to wonder if I NEED A THERAPIST FOR THAT TOO

So, er, anyway again! This just sucks but I have to put health first. *ADULTING SIGH* Soooo sorry to bail on you like this guys πŸ˜•

What All This Means:

I will be largely inactive on WordPress. However, if you are on Goodreads, I WILL BEΒ STALKING YOU!

Stalk GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Alternatively, if you spurnΒ Goodreads, I’ll join your email list. I don’t want to lose track of you guys because you’re awesome and brilliant and make me laugh and keep my tbr stacked with amazing books.

I have a few ARCs that I promised to review, so I’ll finish those off on Goodreads, but other than that, I’m planning to keep quiet for a while.

The Good News πŸ™‚

Just in case you’re actually starting to worry about me, seriously you’re soooo sweet, but no need! My husband and I are both Christians and we’re definitely seeing the blessings in our situation. Several good doctors haveΒ given us amazingly helpful physical and mental health info. Small example: the diet changes suggested by one revealed a ton of food allergies and even helped me lose a few pounds!

So anyway, don’t worry ’bout me! I’ll get back on track and we’ll be fine! I think I’ve taken up enough of your time now soΒ God bless and, um…GODSPEED!?!? Bloggers need speed, right?! Lol

Oh wow, take good care of yourself, Christy! I’m taking a bit of a break myself, I’ve been so busy in “real life” that blogging has to take a backseat for about a month. It’s very hard to pull myself out of that social interaction and knowing what’s going on in the book world, but I know eventually things will get back to normal. Take all the time you need for yourself, and I hope you heal fast:-) I know I’ll miss your posts:-)

Yep, sometimes being an adult really sucks. Specially when one is not a really healthy adult. Mrs B and I both have ongoing conditions, so I certainly understand your decisions. God bless you!

Aw man, I feel your pain! I had a bilateral wrist injury from work, so I couldn’t blog without my husbands help for over a year. And last year I had an eye strain injury that made every moment on the computer miserable. All I can offer is, take care of yourself (it sounds like you are!), know that your blogging friends love you (::raises hand::), and know that things will get better and you’ll be back before you know it! I will also be stalking you on GR. πŸ˜‰

I didn’t blog regularly for a couple of years because of it – only when things started getting better. You’re just fine haha. It’s not whining, its just fact. πŸ™‚

  10. Much as we will all miss you, dear Christy, you need to concentrate on getting back your health, so take your time, follow the doctors’ instructions to the letter and don’t rush things! Once you are back in perfect health, we will all be here to give you a very warm welcome (maybe with the help of a fire-breathing dragon – or would that be too much? πŸ˜€ )
Take care of yourself, and remember we’ll keep the porch light on for you!

Oh Christy, *hugs*, I will be keeping you in my prayers and hoping that the doctors do an amazing job with helping you!

If you need any recommendation for specialists in Sonoma County, please let me know. My best friend’s father in Santa Rosa has been an internal medicine doctor since before I was born and knows so many doctors there. He always has such great referrals. The last one was for my Aunt – she had an impossible time finding a good rheumatologist up in Humboldt County, so my friend’s Dad recommended her one in Santa Rosa and my Aunt loved him!

Cutting sugar out is SO hard at first! But after a few weeks, and especially once you hit around the one month mark, it’s amazing how much the cravings for it lessons so much. Or at least that’s how I’ve felt. It’s almost like your palate changes in regards to it not being in your system. Thank goodness for the internet, there’s a lot of amazing food blogs that have great healthy recipes to help make our lives easier lol. πŸ™‚

I’ll definitely be keeping up with you on Goodreads! β™₯

Jen, you are always soo sweet!! 😘 When I read your hiatus post a monthish ago, I felt like we were in a similar boat, in regards to health (although yours sounded a lot more scary to me!! Surgeries and sick little ones = majorly stressful). I hope your recovery has started to look a little brighter!

Thank you so much for the offer of dr. help!! We spend literally years looking for a doctor who could diagnose my main problem (arthritis), but about three years ago we found a brilliant rheumatologist in Santa Rosa (Dr. Todd Hoefling; he’s such an answer to prayer!). We’re still figuring out some of the complications, but I feel like we’re finally on the right track, PTL!

And yes, FOOD BLOGS! lol Oh man, those have been so helpful with all the diet changes πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I had no idea about all the delicious and nutritious things that I could use to satisfy my sweet tooth. I definitely feel better, with the diet changes.

Thank you so much for the prayers- and I’ve been enjoying your GR reviews πŸ˜€ I hope you really enjoy The Great Hunt + Pursuit. The covers are totally swoonworthy. Talk to you very soon! ❀ ❀

Sorry I’m late getting back to you….this didn’t show up in my email….not sure why?!

My recovery has been moving forward! Although I did way too much yesterday, so my stomach is super swollen and hurts today (doh!), so I’m skipping our to-do list and trying my hardest not to grab my prescription IB Profin. So far so good. πŸ™‚ I wanted to go home last week for the FFA parade in Healdsburg, since all my friends were going back to be there, but it seemed way to overwhelming to take just me and the boys. Andy needed to stay here for work and to also start landscaping our backyard. Going to CA myself seemed way too hard at my stage right now but I’ll be there next year! πŸ™‚

YAY for finding a brilliant doctor! I just looked back at texts with my Aunt and my friend’s dad had recommended either Dr. Lisa Kremer or Dr. Todd Hoefling. Too funny! They’re in the same office, and she loves whichever one she sees. I’m so glad you’re there also!! You’re definitely in good hands then! β™₯

You’ve been in my prayers and I’ll continue to pray that you remain on the right track!

Thank goodness for GRs right?! I’m so thankful we can keep up with what each other is reading that way!! πŸ™‚

Oh, that’s weird! Sometimes my emails get lost in the cyberspace, too πŸ€” No worries πŸ˜‰

Ugh, the hardest part of recovery is knowing our physical limits! It sounds like you’re figuring things out really well. So sorry you had to miss your trip, though! 😦

That’s hilarious that she recommended that same doctor!! πŸ˜†πŸ˜† I guess that office really must be the best around here, then! Doesn’t surprise me. Kev and I just think he’s brilliant lol

Thank you so much for the prayers- and right back at you!!
